Four days through Antioquia's southwest coffee country into the high Caldas thermal range.
A four-day loop through the heart of Colombia's coffee country. Start in Medellín and ride the southwest Antioquia hills to Jardín, then cross into Caldas for the heritage town of Salamina and the thermal highlands around the Nevado del Ruiz. Return via quiet back roads through Filadelfia and La Pintada. Steady paved riding, strong coffee, colonial plazas.
Leave Medellín heading south through Amagá and past the Viaducto, then roll past the pyramid silhouette of Cerro Tusa into Venecia. Pause for lunch in Peñalisa before winding through Tarso, Pueblo Rico, and Andes — deep coffee country with quiet mountain curves. End the day in Jardín, one of Colombia's most picturesque heritage towns.
Cross out of Antioquia into Caldas through Riosucio, then string together Anserma and Risaralda on coffee-road twisties. Climb into the Caldas highlands to Salamina — a preserved Paisa colonial town of wooden balconies, painted doors, and some of the best dulces in the country.
A dramatic climb through Neira up to the Nevado del Ruiz complex. Ride through páramo landscapes above 3,000 m with volcanic ridgelines in view. Descend into Manizales, where mineral pools at Termales del Otoño — fed by the volcano — wait at the end of the day.
The return loop. Drop through Neira and Filadelfia into the Cauca river valley at La Pintada, then climb back through Santa Bárbara on the old southern road into Medellín. Warm lowland stretches, cool mountain air by afternoon.
